The ratings have been somewhat mixed.

An anonymous poster in the most recent live blogs posted the following

Let's face the truth. This show is OVER. DONE. KAPUT. THE YEAR TWO CONTESTANTS ARE AWFUL. REALLY AWFUL. Probably not intentional. And the judges are hard to figure. From what they have shown, they are weak, but i'm sure they filmed many hours to get the short snips. It all simply doesn't work. Last season had some problems-- especially in the second half of the season, when it had to run against ORIGINAL EPISODES OF CSI AND EARL AND THE OFFICE. This year's there's almost nothing else on. Season two ratings are in the toilet pathetic. And AVCstopped promoting it. And Simon has disappeared. It's an orphan. Just wait till it re-runs the first episode on July 4th!! it's a shame really. but it's OVER!!

What do folks think?

I'd say that's a fair and accurate statement.

The show displays no integrity whatsoever.

What's more is that there are already too many potential indications of foul play and consumer fraud at the federal level.

What's actually funny is that the show would've done just fine with a boring old legitimate invention contest. It would have been establishing a loyal base of viewers the whole time. It's a little too late for that now, I'm afraid.

The producers may think that the American people are that stupid. But, most of them, especially the real inventors that are being abused for the show, certainly are not. Too many of them know the truth.

So, in a word, YES.

I agree that the show is boarding on awful! I'm a hugh reality tv fan. Last year I was going thru radiation treatments when the show aired, and decided that I would try out for the show this year. I had invented something for beating the heat because I had gotten heat stroke in Thailand the prior year. So with an invention in hand, and somewhat of a story for why I invented it- I figured it was enough to just have fun with trying out. But for me it was all about auditioning for a reality tv show. Just something to look forward to, and to focus on! But then I got really excited about inventing, and have come up with several things since. I'm sure that this show could have reached others like me who are creative but never thought about inventing, and dreaming the big dream. Yes, I did audition, and I had a ball. I still love reality tv, but I don't love this show!
