It's pretty obvious homeless inventors (like the guys who always say they gave everything up and are now living in their cars) will never be picked as a city winner. Fremantle likes to go for that big, gushy moment when they assemble every family member, friend, casual acquaintance and hanger-on to surprise you with the news that you won. If you don't have those close at hand, give it up since they won't be able to get a melodramatic moment out of you. It's not good TV for them to knock on the window of a car to tell you that you won.

Cynic,

C'mon, man, you KNOW this show is about ratings and nothing else. Freemantle's aim is to rubber-stamp the American Idol model onto these reality TV competitions. Reality TV is about the drama. Inventing is not a spectator sport; therefore, it does not translate well into this format. What we are watching is Freemantle "proving" that their concept does not work with real inventors with real inventions...it requires drama, it requires deception (such as Januz's daughter died in an automobile accident as an young ADULT... not a child), and it requires wackos (enter your homeless contestant whom everyone can laugh at and still feel good about themselves). This show is not gonna last.
