Hi,

I am a 4th year student at CSUSM, in San Diego. One of my assignments this semester for my final project is to work with a local business to help them solve "some kind of strategic challenge". Interestingly i have been assigned to work with a product development & manufacturing firm.

As an inventor can you please fill out my poll and help me gather some research. :)

Interesting project. How does the company find this question a strategic challenge?
Come visit my sites at http://www.RogerBrown.net
or http://www.looking2license.com
I have gotten 9 products licensed spending less than $100 on each, you can too.

Interesting that your company is about 10 miles from where I live...which one is it.

Joe, what makes you think some company is about 10 miles from where you live ??? I dont see anything mentioned about where its at,except the school is in San Diego.
Did shkol002 edit his post since both of you posted ???

Something's not sounding right to me.

That's a strange reply, but I suppose it makes sense if you're missing some bit of info. If you understand the layout of San Diego my previous post makes a lot of sense:

I live in the UTC part of San Diego...which is actually 20 miles from San Marcos (close enough though?). There's very little industry north or east of Escondido, and Escondido is directly east of San Marcos. In other words most of the San Diego companies will be south and/or west of San Marcos, unless you go quite a ways south. This means that his "local" company is likely to be close to where I live.

The whole point of this however was that if this is a local company that provides rapid prototyping, or other services then I'd be interested in knowing what they offer and any other useful details.

Joe I guess that makes sence.

If shkol002 has been assigned to work with a product development & manufacturing firm in the San Diego area. Why would he/she be asking in another thread he started how to find a trusted product development and manufacturing firm?

prototyping & manufactoring
shkol002
where would i look to find a trusted product development and manufacturing firm?
I have a great product but having trouble finding a trusted source to manufacture it for me.
please advise....

Its been a long day maybe Im confused ... :?

Those are the sorts of questions you ask when attempting to grow a business. Specifically this sort of survey helps to develop a marketing strategy. I'm guessing our new member is a business major and not an engineer.

For example: If inventors prefer to get their information from word of mouth first, search engine second and email third, would you bother spending $10k on a local television ad? Probably not. In that case you'd focus on social media first, website development/partnerships second and targeted spam (GRRR) third.

Actually, I didn't see the other post Gizmo...it would seem my assumption that he has an internship at a local prototyping company is wrong.

Just as likely: The question posted elsewhere is meant to collect the same data that the survey at the top of this thread does.
