This is Joseph Safuto of Pureflush. I attended the Oprah/QVC new product search in LA. My agent wanted me to meet up with the QVC folk as a way of keeping my presentation tuned. I wasn't happy that I had to lug all my presentation material down but did.

I must say they did a great job of organizing the masses. The person assigned to me was very alert and made me feel it was all worth the time.

Unfortunately at the site there were the typical lunatics that only wanted camera time. It's a sick self destructive side of a person that decides to waste another persons time with ridiculous "inventions" like the abominable snowman outfit with accompanying DVD instruction or the lady being charioted around by two poodles. What was her invention?? A seeing eye rickshaw ??? Also, Tuxedos for toddlers? They exist. There were too many uniformed people who don't put the small effort into going to the USPTO site and doing a basic search. HELP. Someone please get me a quaalude daiquiri.

This LA session of the QVC product search was to weed out the morons from the "lets see more of's". I was scheduled late in the day. Questions of, "do I need a patent" were heard numerous times. My answer, when asked, was, "please don't waste your effort on that now, go do some research at the USPTO first". Answers usually fell into two categories: "I saw an ad on TV that said you need one" to "I mailed myself a written note and therefore I'm protected as of the day of the letter". HELP !!!!!!!

It's not my job to help these uniformed "pseudo inventors" but it's certainly my right to cringe at their efforts. Sometimes I like to laugh like a little girl when someone insists that a provisional patent is all they need to protect themselves.

My fellow, informed, inventors please carry a spray paint can with you to the next "invention convention" or Invention TV show try outs and when approached by the moronic bodies that want to block you from moving ahead...........mark their foreheads with a big "L" for lost and direct them to the nearest homeless shelter to discuss their poodle chariot with people who give a flying F**K.

OK I feel better. I'm not angry because inventing is an uphill battle. I'm upset that so many people believe that they have the best new invention and present crap. It confuses TV show producers as to if we inventors are smart or just garage looneys. Do a little research for heavens sake.

Love and Luck to you all. I now gotta' get out of the Abominable snowman outfit and eject the DVD. GROWWWWWWWWWWWWWLLLLLLL.

Joseph Safuto

Hey Joe. How the heck are you? This is Pat Rock with Take-A-Seat. Now that I read your post and am finally done laughing, I can reply. Funny stuff. Like I told you in L.A., no matter what the outcome was to be, you definately entertained us all between rounds. Hey, I also went to the Oprah/QVC gig in Chicago last Friday. I saw some wackos as well. We tried to keep low-key, but once the word got out that "the tailgating chair guy from A.I. is here", that was the end of that. I too talked to many people that were asking me about intellectual property stuff among other things. Our appt. was at 1:00, but we were actually done and on our way back to Milwaukee by 1:05. It seemed professional and laid back.
In Chicago the abominable snowman was riding the poodle! One more thing.......I am just amazed that just a few short years ago most people wouldn't even tell their own mother about an idea they had. Now, many, many people go on national T.V. shows without protection. Times are-a-changin! I am helping a friend as his "assistant" this week for the American Inventor Auditions in Chicago. Should be fun, strange, etc......and as wacky as ever. I am sure Erik and a few others will be there. I'll say hi to them for you and Jen. Tell her hi.

Take care Joe and good luck with everything!

Hey Joe :) Nice to see you haven't flushed it all down the drain yet (ha ha right  )

I was wondering how (or if) AI has helped you (aside from some exposure) since last year? Did the contract with them stall you from developing your product for a year? And is the PureFlush patented?

Hope things work out for you.
