Hi Mojo. I read this earlier on CNN. Maybe we could all whip something up together. It has to weigh around 9 pounds total.

Pat

Here, This maybe a setup contest

http://www.electric-fuel.com/military.html

They are light weight military battery provider.
They already have a battery can do 42 hr 20Watt or 10Watt 84hrs and only weight 6.6lb

I happen to know a lot of that weight is from package.

Yeah, I posted this because we like to post inventor contest we run across. I don't think us average inventors could compete with Raytheon or other military equipment vendors. A lot of companies probably have prototypes ready to go for this. We do have a group forming for another contest. Have you ever read that thread? I am willing to give anything a shot though. Never hurts to try as long as it doesn't break the bank.

It is also good to post any of the legit contest whether we have a shot at winning or not. It gets the creative juices going seeing if you can figure out a better solution. It may not help you with that contest but does sharpen your mind for the ones you do have a shot at.
You have to keep those gears turnig or they freeze up. LOL
Come visit my sites at http://www.RogerBrown.net

I have gotten 9 products licensed spending less than $100 on each, you can too.

Hey, I've worked for Raytheon. I wouldn't be so quick to assume that they'd even be interested, much less that they'd have an advantage over a crack team of inventors. I know darn well we would compete well in a contest like that.

If you'll notice, the rules don't specify that it must be a battery only. Not only that but, keep in mind that the advertised life of a battery isn't necessarily what you would get under less-than-ideal circumstances.

MWB, if that's the best that a battery could do, then they wouldn't stand a chance of winning [anything]. That leaves exactly one million US dollars up for grabs. This private forum is sounding better and better all the time.

You know, the more I think about, the more it seems like this whole contest was intended to entice the holder of US Pat. # 7,033,406 out of an exclusive deal with Zenn Motor (see Secretive startup promises end to standard batteries in the Business Section of last Tuesday's S.F. Chronicle).

That really chaps my hide. I don't appreciate being toyed with, especially by the US Government.

Hey, if there is anybody here who thinks they have a way to meet these requirements (by burning water, or using metal glass, or something) then let's talk about it. This may be your only chance of making any money off of it ...and time is running out.

I've got an idea. It isn't pretty, but it looks like it might meet the posted requirements. If anyone's interested, let me know so we can setup a private group for it.

maybe fuel cell.
If we can convert gasoline directly into electric power, that should hold the weight down.

And also, I found google patent search isn't as good as USPTO search.
Try this patent number on google and you will know what I mean. (Pat. # 7,033,406 )

:!: Well, the cat's pretty much out of the bag now. :!:

MWB (and anyone else who would want to contribrute) let's do this. Are you in favor of setting up a private forum here to develop an entry for this Wearable Power Contest?

The assumption is that our only shot is to pool together. No single person could do this without the contributions of a larger group. We'll worry about the details as we go. Right now, I'd like to bounce a few ideas off of a group of at least 5 thinkers.

Please, let's not talk about it anymore on this thread. That would just make us all look pretty silly. Tell us if you'd like to participate for an equal share (which may stand to change by vote, based on level of contribution). This would be open to members who have already posted messages on the forums, by this time.
