How exciting. I'm really pleased for you- because I know how exciting it would be for me if it happened!! No news yet for me. I'll be hopeful till they post all the winners!! I'm glad to see that someone else from the boards submitted an idea. What category did you invent something for? Had you already had the idea and chose to submit, or did you invent just for the hunt?

The results are posted on the Big Idea Group web site- top 30 finalists.
And yes my name is listed!! I guess that makes me a real inventor!
They will decide about which ideas they will license by March 2008.

Sorry you did not make it.

It may still be something that can work with a different partner.

For folks interesting in Bid Idea searches, can you give us a better idea of the process, what the criteria are and the prizes or deal they promise?

Michelle

I am actually very pleased with the whole process. They give you alot
of background information on what the client is looking for, target market,
things they are not interested in, and all kinds of stuff. You have to write up a proposal- about 2 pages, and mail or fax it to them. They tell you in advance how many prizes, and of what amount or type they are paying.
In the Household Helper they selected 30 winners and they all received
a prize package. It was a smart spin, and a pasta pro pot. Everything
is done in a timely manner, and very professional. For the Pasta sauce
idea Hunt they will pay $2000 for the first place, and $500 for next 4 places, and price package for 20 more.

I can't complain. The item I invented for the last idea hunt, was in
response to that hunt. So without them, I wouldn't have invented it.
And if I say so myself, I do think it's a good one. I made several proto-types and use them everyday- and they are wonderful.
