I stumbled across Intellectual Ventures, while reading about how their owner uses modern tech to cook french fries. It appears as though they acquire ownership and use rights for various technologies - as does a "patent troll." They, seemingly, differentiate themselves however by actively seeking to license their intellectual property.

I'm not affiliated with the company, just curious. What do you think of the company and their business model?
