Stephen, I read you were a consultant on American Inventor Season1. What was that like? Did you like the Anecia?

I taped for American Inventor season 1 and I don't remember hearing of or seeing Stephen. I did see Simon Cowle drive up the night I was tapeing and taped the same night as the guy who won that year. Unfortunately the name of the show said it all. It was more about the inventor than the invention that was what the producers were interested in. Very frustrating. Wes

I was behind the scenes. They asked me to be a consultant with the finalists. I worked with the finalists and the design companies that worked on the inventions. My job was to make sure the design companies and the finalists were working together and that they would produce something that would look good on TV. I had a lot of fun and learned a lot about TV. I know a lot of people were not happy with the show but in the end you need to realize, it's just TV. The producers have one goal, to make good TV.

Here are a few photos of me and the judges, the host and the winner as well as me on the set.

So even though it wasn't a good product the Anecia was pushed along because it looked good on tv? Do you know if Evenflow is planning on following through with it? Did you have any favorites that stood out?

Phil,In my opinion this TV show was all about entertainment. Each inventor had a interesting story, a entertaining story to tell. Some TV shows are all about the struggle, the climb, and of course success. Did they care if any of these products became marketable, I'm not so sure. I remember working with the design team on the child safety seat and thinking this is new technology, there needs to be testing, this can be a long long process. bringing new technology to market is very difficult. I didn't have any favorites, I liked all the products/inventions. I truly enjoyed the experience, working with the inventors actually was my favorite part of the job. Remember, there's nothing real, in reality TV.

Hay Stephen, I'm with Inventright also and I have a problem with my invention in that it is so adapable to so many fields that I don't know where to start except with the quantun aspects and work from there. If I do that I will be laughed out of the room. Andrew has one of my SUPRE NOVA kits or at least he did. Let me know what you think. Wes

It's ashame that the public perspective of the show was not what it intended to be.

I guess that's in part the reason for it's failure.
