Hi all, Its been awhile... My last patent ( legal slot machines) wound up being in a provisional state form someone else, I didnt find out untill I created a website and then he contacted me, he pretty much had the same idea and had filed about 6 months before me... I had software and was well on my way (working units) so we were talking about joining,,, but alas it was too much legal trouble... So, I filed a new patent and have been working on a great new "fully legal, no ifs and's or buts!) I will post my link to the website as soon as its done... Good to see everyone is doing well... Frog

Best of luck to you. I too was recently pursuing what I felt was one of my greatest ideas (products) yet and was one step away from filing a provisional patent only to find that it had already been patented some ten years before me. There it was in black and white filed in 2000. I tell you, it's a sick feeling to see that someone else beat you to it so to speak. A feeling that I know all too well as this isn't the first time. Oh well, what can you do? There may be a chance for a product modification as mine is slightly different or I could add a few things, etc. to justify a product modification but that would be a stretch in more way than one. Maybe next time. Well, once again good luck!

Regards,
Steve

Thanks for the update, froggy. Did you two discuss your actual invention dates, or just the filing dates. I'm sure there was more to your conversation, but how do you know for sure that he filed 6 months before you, or whether he intended to claim the same things?

He sent me a copy of his filing, we actually met and he played the games I had developed.... but again , like I mentioned, the law aspect was more of a hurdle than anything....
