Does Edisons keep your protoype?

Before you are definitely accepted for the show, if you make it to a "higher level", do the Edison folks make you say "bye-bye" to your prototype?

If you pass with the judges in the filming room...you will be asked whether or not we can take your prototype back to our headquarters...to help with the research process in determining who will make the show. You will not be getting your prototype back though. It's your choice though whether you want to give it up or not.
