This show is great except that I've e-mail them at least 50 times without a single response. I agree with one blogger here who says there are way too many reruns. It would be nice to open this show up to people with fewer resources (like me) to give opportunity to present ideas. Or to maybe provide access to faster paths toward our goals which to me, we pretty much all have in common........MONEY, BABY!!!!

I have to agree. I love the show, but would like to see him do a show a week or even a small segment of time devoted to the small, almost making it, but not quite there Inventors.
Most of his guests are past the point of struggling for recogintion. They are making in the hundreds of thousands or millions. What about those with a great idea, but no breaks or making a living at it, but not rich?
It is great to see people who have made it to the top, but I would also like to see those that need that final push to get them there. His audience is filled with people that could see your idea and make it the next BIG IDEA!
Unfortunatly he is in the same postion as most T.V. shows- Ratings!!!

I have gotten 9 products licensed spending less than $100 on each, you can too.

they've shown a few...

that haven't made it. Like the husband and wife team who are trying to bring the strapless bikini, basically nipple covers, to the American market. Or the housewife, who is past the prototype development, for her popsicle drip stopper.

From CNBC's standpoint, it would not be profitable to show struggling inventors more often than not. All of us with ideas need to see that the housewives and basement ceo's have made it on an idea and hard work and are now making gozilliions.

Hey there! I'm not so much a regular poster, but more of a lurker... I just take it all in! If you guys are really bored next week around 10:00, I'll be the "One minute to Millions" guest Tuesday. (the 29th) For those of you loyal watchers, you guys know that segment is kinda like being in the hot seat. A panel of experts critique a newbie entrepreneur/inventor (me in this case) about all aspects of the company and product. Hope I do okay... especially now since I've told about a thousand of my closest friends!

I'll be watching.

I checked out your site and product...great idea!

Is it already taped? If so, I'd love some insight to your experience.

I'd also love to know how you got on the show.

Jason

They are flying me up Monday night, we tape Tues morning/afternoon, then it airs that night, so I've got NO experience! :?

As far as how I got on, I just submitted my video to the "The American Dream Team" (avid watchers will know what that is)

Here's my video...

They called the next day. There's no "secret" to getting on, I'm just an average mom, with average intelligence, a pretty cool invention, and A LOT of passion! So all you inventors out there, GO FOR IT!!!

Good for you GrillCharmer!!! I swallow my words.
Like Citizen, I too would love to know how you were able to get on the BigIdea. I've sent so many e-mails without any response and was wondering if they even recieved them. I'm glad you got that kind of exposure. I'm sure you did well; knowing how much this could mean for you. Way to go!! Rock on!!

Thanks man!!! :D No need to swallow any words.. I wouldn't know the "process" either if I didn't do it. I always thought to get on a national TV show you had to know someone or you had to be a BIG dog, but really really... That is not the case with Donny. I just sent in my video! He really is a champion for us small time, newbie entrepreneur/inventors. :D

Ya know, I now have a renewed faith in my own potential in trying to sell my products. I'm stuggling with the marketing aspect of it at the moment and hope to hook up with people who have already "been there" and as I've said in my recent posts that motivation comes in all packages and in this case, for me to read your story IS insperational. Hopefuly, others like use will realize what you must be feeling!! I'm sure it's gotta be a rush!!!
Cheers!!
