Rookie inventor

Hi I'm new here so please be patient. I have a guitar stand that i have a design patent on. Through the years i have received tons of mail from invention help companies. I have recently been talking to a company called, IDEA (INNOVATIVE DESIGN ENGINEERING ANIMATION) based in
San Francisco California. They also have a location in India. They are asking for $13,000 and they want half of that up front for CAD, industrial design and animation. This doesn't seem right to me but as I said I'm a rookie at this. Has anyone heard of this co. Also any suggestions about how to go about getting the right people to see my invention without costing an arm and leg would be greatly appreciated. My ultimate goal is to approach the right kind of manufacturers. I really do think I have a great product that will appeal to many. Thanks, Rick Payne
