I searched "software" in the FAQ section, and it came up empty. So i ask if any of the following Patent Creating aids are worth there salt?:

PatentEase DESIGN (v5.0.0) $99.00,
PatentEase PROVISIONAL (v7.0.0) $199.99,
PatentEase Deluxe $299.00,
PatentPro® $299.99,
ConfidentialityWizardâ„¢ $99.00

And i am curious to know why this question is not in the form (Not truly important).
Very important:Is there a patent aiding software that is good and not mentioned here?

Hi:

Are you asking which software is best? I don't know if we have addressed that topic exactly as someone would have had to buy and try every one of those to determine which is best or better.
But we'd love to have this discussion to discuss if any one has used any of these and whether they thought any of them were particularly useful?

There is a pretty good overview of patent software in our article on
Patent Pending In About An Hour Without an Attorney
at http://inventorspot.com/articles/patent_pending_one_hourwithout_a_10900

Maybe that can help you get started? And hopefully, someone will be able to share their experiences if they have used any one of these?

I don't think there is any need to buy "specialized" software to draft a patent application. Any decent word processor that allows you to import graphics would be more than versatile enough. In fact, I've heard that some patent software actually hinders the process by being overly redundant.

It's interesting that you mention this. I got a call from an inventor just this week that said the same thing.

Provisional applications are not complicated to prepare. All that is required is that you provide an enabling disclosure. The only thing that can really do wrong is that some of the aspects of the invention are not properly or fully described. Preparing as many drawings of the invention as practical should limit this risk.

Yes. I was asking which one of these software programs were best. I am going to take a look at that article that you suggested. It should make for some good research.
Thank you, Michelle.

I personally have not tried any of those softwares so I can't be helpful.

Unless someone tried all of them to compare them, they could not really say which is best. All you can get is probably someone who used one of them to say they liked it. Unfortunately, we do not have any articles on the site evaluating those softwares.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Perhaps someone who has used one of those softwares could point you in the right direction.

If you do end up buying and using one of those, we'd very much appreciate your thoughts and feedback on it for the next inventor asking the same question.

Good luck,

Michelle

What I would advise no matter what you use, that you buy and read Patent It Yourself first.

Many people have really found the book helpful in giving them a good foundation for understanding the patenting process.

Also, make sure to check out our patenting info section of our Inventor Information area . There are some great articles there to get you started.
