Great detective work. I am impressed. I tried to contact the owners of the site but couldn't reach them. They had two dead email accounts. Anyone know how I can get in contact with them?
Also, anyone else have such a juicy reveal in terms of the inventions featured?
I think someone mentioned on this site that the Theraphy Video lady was also just looking for marketing.
I guess to me, that seems natural. Smart folks get patents and then try to find a marketing partner, and in teh process, perhaps try to do it themselves, while they look fof the right partner.
Isn't that how this inventing game is played?

Everyone go to this site the guy for this invention has been selling, and pitching these guys at conventions for a while, and selling them. So even though he was turned down, he's making money from them, and so I imagine he just wanted more publicity for his "My Therapy Buddy".. smart advertising move. Kudos to him. I think it's cute. I think I'll go buy one. Yep.

I was really proud of the woman who invented this.
My daughter who is 12 suffers from alopecia, she is totally bald.
She has tried wigs, but they are hot and itchy.She suffers so much ridicule
and stares everywhere she goes. Great idea, if you don't win, I know
this product will be on the market and I hope soon bec. she wants them!

I also agree the judges can be nicer! Especially that Doug guy, I almost turned
off the show bec. he is so revolting in every way!He might be an inventor
but he is not God.

First of all, the show clearly aims for drama instead of the presented goal of finding an innovative idea (what should we have epxected from a network station). Secondly, it is gut-wrenchinlgy sad. These pseudo judges don't have to be so blantantly rude to inventors. There are literally thousands of oddball, off-the-wall, out-tyhere products in this world that sell like crazy.
My prediction is that the weak-minded judges on this show will end up by ultimately failing to see a great idea and even mocking it...the last laugh will be when one or more of thier rejected ideas go on to be more popular and useable than their eventual picks.
It'll be William Hung on steriods.

I think this site is clearly about helping inventors. They have postings about prototyping, about patents and about resources necessary for inventors. But its up to us all to get involved and help each other.
The site is here for us. It's now up to us to use it to its maximum benefit. Tell people about this site so we can all get more traffic to our inventions from this site.
It this site works, we'll all benefit. Just my opinionn

Gimme a break. This reality show should win the worst reality
show award.
The bottom line is that it's really bad and really sad.
The four judges are a joke, the music they have to play
as background is there because there's so much dead air
on the show.
It has no flow. No charm. And I can't believe I'm wasting
my precious time posting about it!
The best thing to come out of the American Inventor is it's
my single to turn off the tele and go spend time with a friend.
You should do the same!

I think it will sell, theres no doubt about it. It was the most tasteful thing and can't really win, but it is profitable. you could make one for men too. Its gonna end up on the market I'm sure of that. Mary Lou was Waaaaay too outraged about it though.
Bathroom stalls are brpken all the time. Many many times they dont' close properly, I know I would neevr buy that though, but I am a man. It deserves a shot.

And I'm referring to the inventions getting better, not the judges. Mine is much better - that's why I've got it listed on this site and ********************.
Maybe the judges will become more likeable as we accustom ourselves to them as characters? It's like a morphing of scripted and reality TV. I hope so anyway because I'll be watching as long as they keep it on.
Also looking forward to the reviews by the radio guys in the morning - they were pretty harsh last week, and hilarious.

Of course we like the beginning of the season of American Idol for the people who can't sing but think they can, but the beginning of American Inventor takes the cake:
- a beetle farm
- a blue stuffed animal saying "everything is going to be alright"
- moving a guitar plug to the back of the guitar
- ETC.
I want to say to all of them "You need to go make some macaroni art so you can hear mommy tell you 'you are so creative' if you honestly think your idea is REMOTELY CLOSE to being good!"

Therapy buddy already exists! i own the exact same thing, i bought it at sears i think, and it came lavender scented to be relaxing...although i must say it came without the creepy voice!

I agree the public bathroom lock is another bladder buddy. Something you have to carry around 100% of the time for a 1% problem. Have they ever heard of asking a neighbor to hold the door.

Public bathroom doors are broken 30% of the time? I know that's not true. I am always in public bathrooms since I have young kids, a public bathroom door is broken maybe 2% of the time. I don't think I would ever carry one of those locks. Maybe they hang out in different bathrooms than I do.

Where can I get a bathroom lock NOW? I have been in countless bathrooms across the US and there is often one or more where the door does not completely close. Maybe this is not an issue for men, but it is a big issue for women, especially at venues that do not have many stalls to begin with. We want privacy, and this invention works! It doesn't have to cost much to be successful. I would buy more than one myself.

I'm a woman and I don't appreciate the product and especially the way the contestant tried to sell the product through but come ... must you react so emotionally? Mary Lou personally attacks some people. Are they all woman? She attacked the tizzy tube woman whose idea was fine (just not presented well). Mary Lou did not even listen to the tizzy tube woman's explanation. Mary Lou - tsk, tsk.
