Congrats to Ideagirl and ideasthings! Both of you made it to final consideration? Did anyone have to leave their prototype? Do you both have patents so you can tell us about it? Also, did you get to speak to any marketers, etc? Who was on the judging panel? It used to be three judges, now there are 4? Do you remember who the judges were? Also, how many made it to the green room, could you tell. (My sister and I made it to final consideration but it has now been 9 weeks and I guess I am nervous)

Please do tell us all about the experience and if you have any websites, etc.

I see my posting about judging didn't post.
So I did go up in front of 4 judges and
got 4 Yes's. They did ask for a prototype.
I was out of there by noon. By that time,
there were maybe 20 total that made it past
the initial round. Taping took a little bit of
time. They didn't hurry you, and it was all
very pleasant. Everyone was very friendly,
and it was well organized. The initial screening
was in front of 10 judges, mostly major retailers
like Bed, Bath and Beyond, Dick's Sports, QVC.
They are saying that even though only 12 will make
it on TV, many will get picked up by the the retailers.
Something like 80 were picked up from last season.
So it's a really good opportunity. This is nothing like
American Inventor!!!! It was great seeing, Chic, Ben,
and ideasthings. I had my little sign, and did spread
the word to a few people. If you are going to do this,
you have to get a gold pass. Best $10 I have spent
in a long time!!!

What are your things? Can you tell?
Show your prototype in front of contest panel consider as public disclosure already. Be sure you file a patent before 12 months up.

I had already applied for a patent, so that's not a problem. Sorry I
can't share the invention with everyone quite yet. But hopefully one of
these days soon.

You say you didn't make it through the first pass and you are happy about that? I am somewhat confused. So, you showed your product and got no's or did you show your product the first time and then did not show it the second time (for the cameras) or did you show it to the cameras and then get no's? Your 3 oclock meeting went well, was it with someone from the Everyday Edisons? please elaborate a bit if you can, okay? Your product is already out in markets right now though isn't it?
Please fill us in so we kind of know what you mean!! (Oh, how did your portable door frame work?)

Thanks, Mrs.b

Relax, Mrsb
I think Chic1 means there are still many opportunities outside of EE show.
