I know there was another posting about provisional patents, but I have some other questions. I think I would like to check on getting one before my audition in Houston on April 15th, but I don't know much at all about what to do, where to go, who to talk to, etc.. Do I even have time at this point? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I did a google search for cheapest provisional patent, paid $199, downloaded patent wizard software, answered the questions from the software in a day, emailed my software final draft along with my diagrams and now i am waiting to see what happens next.

Go to the US Patent Office web site: www.uspto.gov

Read up on what Provisional Patents do and don't do. If you don't advance in the show, will you be able to file your patent application within 12 months? It may be best to have a provisional ready, but wait until you hear whether or not you advance before filing.

Good luck,
