Captain, that made me laugh so unexpectedly that I spit coffee on my monitor (copyright 2007 Road Show).
The bottom line with all of those special deals for provisional patent filings is, there's no point in doing it, if you're not sure it's comprehensive enough. I mean, that's not tough to do, in many cases. But, those companies like LegalZoom, and all the rest, who offer rates of $100-300...they don't review your material for content or merit. They don't reference patent law to even help YOU prepare a solid application, one that will withstand a challenge to priority thru litigation, much later on. They just take your work and forward it, knowing that they will never have to answer for it.
You may as well just do it yourself, thru the USTPO website, and spend less money. All you need is the PPA coversheet form (SB16).
In my opinion, to offer a service of forwarding material and charging a fee to make it seem as if they will be establishing protection for the customer, is not much different than a scam.
