Me and my Ilk are not being dismissive of your point Mr. Scrupulous. You are correct and I will be sure to follow the rules.

[quote="Patent_Attorney"][quote="Scrupulous"]While I am already enjoying this exchange between the two of you, I do need to point out a few things to ensure that this remains a lively discussion, and not an ongoing violation of the Terms of Use at this site.

This forum is intended for the benefit of inventors. That said, there is a fine line between providing useful input and advertising (which is prohibited).

We all know that intellectual property is often one of the key concerns for inventors. Deal with it.

However, this forum isn’t meant to be an advertisement showcase. Anytime you mention pricing for your own services in here, you are advertising. Even pushing your own capabilities excessively can be considered advertising.

Let me refer you both to a couple sections of the Terms of Use here.

[color=darkblue][b][list][i]“[You will not] use the Communication Services in connection with surveys, contests, pyramid schemes, chain letters, junk email, spamming or any duplicative or unsolicited messages (commercial or otherwise).â€

Just to clarify, Scrup is a Patent Agent. He is also one of the few people I trust explicitly on this site. I don't know Patent Attorney, but haven't seen anything that I took as advertising. As far as credentials, I'm pretty sure I can recite Mr. Inventions from everyone of his posts. Though after reading the rest of his post, I don't know why anyone would want to work with him.

It would be soooo helpful if people were pre-qualified on this forum so as to see if in fact they had any credentials or experience in the idea field (Experience in related files would also be helpful) thus giving their comments and opinions some creditability. Unfortunaely on the internet anybody can say anything that they want (Blogs) without anything to back up those opinions. When one gets to be my age (70) and have a verifiable history not only in business but contributing to society in general, it gives one a certain amount of personal satisfaction knowing that ones life has not consisted only of rhetoric and very little of anything else. I think for every one person that disagrees with my business techniques, I can provide a list of 1000 people that agree with my business methods. Those people would be in the form of clients, buyers of my product, suppiers and employees. Most of those people I have been dealing with for over 30 years. I am sure you remember what Abraham Lincoln said about satifisfying people. This is a very nice forum and I have had several people contact me with their problems and I have given them the benefit of my expertise which is based on actual invovlement in all aspects of the idea business not merely unsubstantiated opinons. You know what they say: Those that can, do. Those that can't, teach or write how-to books. I guess you can add blogging and becoming a self assigned (A forum quorum of one thus a consensus of one) mediator to the list. Because I am a professional business man and have been for a long time, I don't take anything personally. Have a nice day.

I think that it is best that I forgoe any more posts or sparring with Mr. Invention. As a self appointed non-biased expert Mr. Invention can field any further questions posted on the forum. I am sure that all will aprreciate his help. If anyone would like to have a frank discussion about the facts of patent law and the process with me then feel free to PM me in private so that we can use email instead.

You are correct that being dragged in the gutter only sullies myself and in the end provides absolutely no business for myself either because my reputation is tarnished. I will leave the self promotion to the experts.

Thanks

Patent-Attorney

Patent Attorney,
My post was implying that Mr. Invention was everything that he claims everyone else is. I have not really read any useful constructive criticism other than give up and get a real job. I did see a post that implied to someone new that had money, to contact him because he could help. Hmmm?

I for one welcome your comments and your interaction here.

Randy

Kind of a goofy subject title. I wasn't sure how to put it. In Barbara Careys "Your Ideas are Worth Millions" book she states that she made an appt & took her prototype into the head buyer of the department ---got the order and a check---and thats how she got the money to produce the invention. She says she presells everything to get the money to make it.
Has anyone else done it like that? btw I am not talking about licensing the product.
Thanks,
Melodee

Actually, I don't like seeing new members new topics altered.
I'm sure I've been guilty of that myself at times.

Yeah, but the more you know the less you understand right Mojo?

  I'll have to think long and hard about that Work! :?
