I'm making another run at my project. StudyTyme. This time I'm looking at outside investors. It's not what I really wanted to do, but ...
(Don't even start with me Mr. Inventor. I've read your posts and don't really care to hear from you on the subject.)

Anyway, I've found a site that may be worth checking out. I doubt I'll ever pay to post my project, but it has ALOT of people and companies that are Angels and VC's listed. The site is http://www.gobignetwork.com/funding/

If you are thinking about listing a project there, fill out the form and when they ask for credit card info, just cancel out. The next day they send you an email and offer posting the project for half price for the first month.

I used the right side of the page and searched for investors in my area and found several pages of them. I googled them and the companies and went to the web sites. I even emailed a couple of them.

I just thought I'd pass on the link for anyone interested.

Hey Randy:

Could you please give us an interim report back on this if it looks good? or bad?

We'd love to feature them if it is something that can be really useful for inventors.

Michelle

Well, today I got a call from someone that says they represent 5000 investors. I don't remember the name of the company, but gave them my contact info. I told them I needed a NDA signed and they said I'd get an email from them. Since I didn't actually post my project on the site, I'm not sure if they are one of the companies that I got their info off of gobignetwork.com. I did get an automated response from a contact that I did get from the site. I forwarded my NDA to them we'll see where it goes from there. If my project can't get angel funding, I don't know what it would take to get it.

I'll keep everyone informed.

Randy

Hi Randy,

I'd be shocked if you got any investor to sign an NDA. If someone signs one better perform a heavy-duty background check on them as it is not the usual.

You were probably contacted by a birddog who'll pretend to go on a fishing expeditition of those alleged 5000 companies as long as you pay him up-front a small fee usually between $300-$800. He might even have set up a company in name only so you pay have after contact is made with the entity who is really him. Another scam is he'll want a Business Plan. If you don't have one he'll have a company contact you to write one of which he'll get his cut. Some promise to refund X amount if no deal results though you won't hear from them. There are so many "investor" type scams it right boggles my mind.

Regards,
Penny Ballou
