Why not utilize existing roadside reflectors to create turbine power :?:

How do you mean X?

How about embedded in the tire lanes install piezoelectric thingys to take advantage of the weight of the vehicles?

Hi BSG

Your link: http://www.popularmechanics.com/technol ... 24763.html

Oh ok right. That's what I was thinking. Make the yellow and white lines light up. The railings, overpasses, jersey barriers etc. Even the signs. It would be cool because if there was no traffic there'd be no need for lights. I wonder if the kinetic/weight and wind energy of each individual vehicle could make all the power it needed to illuminate its general vicinity as it traveled.

Think about trains. There's got to be a way to utilize all that weight through vibrations or just the pressure under each wheel as it moves down the track to generate power.

Those wind band generators would be easy to conceal along roadsides. The great thing about them is it isn't difficult or expensive to fix them.

Hi BSG

Those Piezoelectric thingys would be great under the railroad tracks on top of each railroad tie - Sandwiched In-between the railroad track & railroad tie 8)
