Runs on water, makes balloons and rocket fuel

My dream invention involves a machine running on the electrical power generated by means of the nuclear fusion of hydrogen. It uses water as its fuel - it uses the power from fusion to perform electrolysis on the water (thus breaking it into hydrogen and oxygen), then uses the hydrogen to make more power. The helium resulting from the hydrogen fusion is pumped into balloons. The leftover oxygen is used to make liquid oxygen - a component of rocket fuel.
The surplus electrical energy will be supplied to the grid. Eventually such machines will produce enough energy to eliminate human reliance on fossil fuels, as well as make it feasible for giant helium-filled, rocket-powered dirigible aircraft to be created.

Hmm...I'd never thought about what the actual process would be. But, this is quite an inpiring set of ideas from you. Thanks, Purple Puppy.
From what you describe, it sounds like you would consider making water plasma. The heat from the fusion could actually ionize the steam (making the electrolysis unnecessary). Maybe the resulting H2 and the O2 could run a fuel cell, to provide the current for the magnetic field. And the outputs would still be helium and oxygen, while the hydrogen gets cycled back to the beginning(?)
Is this what you're getting at?

Hmm... the water plasma idea is quite interesting.
So now, in the machine:
1) Part of the water gets ionized by the heat from fusion into hydrogen and oxygen
1.1) The rest of the water simply boils and drives a steam turbine to generate electricity (more efficient than fuel cells)
1.2) The steam is condensed and sent back to step 1.
2) The hydrogen is turned into helium due to fusion
2.1) The helium is pumped into balloons
3) The oxygen is liquefied using the energy generated by fusion and processed into rocket fuel
3.1) The rocket fuel is used to power rockets mounted on the balloons.
Theoretically the entire machine is possible from our current understanding of physics, except for the fusion reactor, since no fusion reactor has ever been built. So I guess we just have to sit and wait while the scientists at the National Ignition Facility work out how to achieve controlled "cold" fusion.

Then again, you could always just run a current thru tap water, capture the hydrogen and oxygen, and then burn it in an ICE to generate said current...and reclaim the water, of course.
