Hello, I am very much in to the inventing process, as most here. I just wished getting our ideas from our heads to the shelf were not so arduous, and expensive. I like to consider myself as having great ideas, I guess until I actually make it to market.

If we had a way maybe through forums like this, where we could get together, and act more of team in this effort, maybe merchandiser will not be so quick to look so far beyond us.

Yeah, I'd say there is a trend in the direction of open collaboration. I still think a lot more can be had by taking advantage of the US one-year grace period. I believe you're correct in thinking that the inventor community should dictate marketing more than the merchandisers. That's where the open collaboration comes in, with input and contribution from all areas of commercialization. It starts with the inventor, though.
