This is where the bad guys really show their hand. They say things like, "She got what she paid ($10,000) for- a marketing analysis and a patent application.". You don't hear that in their sales pitch. They just immediately tell you your product "seems to be a winner" and anything else to keep you hooked.
They should have simply told her the idea was not patentable or if they didn't know that, they should have. In that case I can say I've invented the first solar powered submarine although I have no idea how to do it. These people take advantage of others who are naively at a disadvantage. They should have told her you can't combine two separate patented products as one and claim patent rights. They knew she had "sucker" written across her forehead.
