On the day widely dubbed as Cyber Monday, Nimble Jack Enterprises reported from its worldwide quarters that the Magic Toob hit a new monthly sales record since first appearing on the market in May 2009. When asked for comment their founder, the brilliant and strikingly handsome Jack D'Alelio, attributed the company's success to his hard working and dedicated staff of one. "Without that indivual we wouldn't be where we are today. Revenues are on pace to double for the second consecutive year. We can clearly envision a day when the Magic Toob product will be found everywhere light bulbs are sold and used in every household in America!"

I noticed that Congress overturned the ban of the incandescent lightbulbs, which was one of your big selling points. It kind of removes the "urgency" factor.
Never can tell about some things though, you know? Back after Obama bailed out GM & Chrysler, the media was flooded with how terrible and dangerous Toyota's were, complete with horror stories in an attempt to scare Toyota owners.
I think the only way the tree huggers could get the population to embrace those bulbs, was for their media mouthpieces to preach the regular bulbs will no longer be available. The politicians and media treat the public as if they are a heard of mindless Lemmings, but the general population isn't as stupid as MSNBC wants you to believe they are.... they pick out or "audition" an example, then using them, comment/analize/commentary how idiotic the citizens are... it's an old, worn out, but very affective mind control technique for those who let it in.
Sorry for the soap box, Jack, and certainly this isn't directed at you; you were just going by what they said was going to happen.... it just aggravates me to witness how wealthy "special interest" are permitted to manipulate facts (propaganda) to generate profits, opinions, and control!!
Kind of like some (all) of these companies that have inventor's best interest in mind!!

According to that article the repeal failed. But it's really a moot point. As I've been telling people for LONG time, this is NOT a light bulb product but rather a CLIP-ON SHADE product.
When first conceived my focus was indeed on the spiral CFL's vs. their very expensive round counterparts. But it turns out that CFL's are by no means the only bulbs with odd shapes. As you can see by the attached image, some of the weirdest shapes can actually be found among the LED's. The claim now being made for the Magic Toob product is that it will allow clip-on's to remain straight and level on "virtually any size, shape or type of bulb". And that remains quite true! In addition, it's the only product on the market today that can keep mini shades straight on one's chandeliers. In that case it's not a bulb shape issue but rather, the problem appears to be due to slight expansion and contraction of the bulb clips as the fixtures cycle between on & off hence, hot and cold.
Regardless of what the short-sighted morons in congress do (or don't do), some people are converting to CFL's voluntarily in order to save money and help the environment. And here's an interesting little tidbit on the law passed by congress in 2007 (under George Bush BTW!): There's no language in the bill that says incandescent bulbs will be banned. Rather, the legislation sets much higher standards for energy efficiency that current incandescents simply cannot meet. Some manufacturers may continue to develop high efficiency incandescents but apparently NOT GE as evidenced by this article that appears on the Nimble Jack Enterprises site:

I just received a re-order for another two dozen units from Santa Barbara Lampshades. This means that Jan 2012 will obliterate the monthly sales record set only two months ago in Nov 2011! Up 179% from Jan 2011, Wooohoo!
