You are obviously a very talented computer modeler. I see you've also managed to overcome your fear of piracy, in favor of the benefits given in bouncing ideas off other people. But, knowing how much time it can take to set up even a simple animated demonstration indicates that you may have far, far too much of it on your hands.
I think you would do well to learn a little more about kinematics. It appears as though you've gone and taken rotational motion, converted it into translational motion, and then converted back into the original rotational motion, all at the expense of losses due to friction. Some people would find that almost irresponsible.
If you maintained your current abilities and enthusiam, while learning about some more engineering concepts, there could be nothing to stop you from doing whatever it is you wanted to accomplish.
