Im going to the big idea group roadshow with some ideas but Im not sure if I should give them my best idea or not. From what I understand everything is free but they get 50% of your royalties if they decide not to manufacture it their self in which case you get 5% of the sale price.
How do you think their service is compared to invention home? IH will charge me $600 to put it on their website so they can get 25% of my royalties but I think Ill be stuck paying for the patent.
It might be a better deal to go with big idea group if they can manufacture it but I dont know what stuff they make.

I have dealt with Big Idea Group and found them to be very professional to work with. As you stated they do not charge a review fee like a lot of places and they do not try and sell you a bundle of services.
They do hunts for a number of large companies like Staples and Welch's.
Currently they are doing a invention hunt where they travel to various states and you can picth your invention to them. They will be in Atlanta on September 15th. Because I had so many ideas for them to review they did a pre-review to narrow it down to 9 items they are specifically interested in seeing more info on.
Since I work have ideas in bulk I don't mind spliting any royalties with them for half. Because a number of those companies they do hunts for will not look at your idea unless preseted by a third party company.
Invention Home on the other hand is a pay as you go site. I have several Inventor friends that have used them and paid the $600 to have them basically write up a pitch for them and post it on their site. They also charge a monthly fee to keep it on their site. They don't seem to actively push your product it is more of a we have these items for your company to review if you want to. Most large companies don't use these types of sites to find new products. IN my opinion those types of sites are a waste of time. If you are looking for a forum to showcase your protected idea you can set up a website for to do the same thing at a fraction of the cost.
A domain name costs around $8, you can use Frontpage from windows to make a webpage, you can post your website for $5 a month. Now you are in charge of your destiny and not bunched in with a mass group of other Inventors trying to get someone to see their product. Plus, as you contact companies they can go directly to your site and see what you are offering and not be distracted by other inventions.

I have dealt with the Big Idea Group through their invention hunts. I will be presenting 9 inventions to them at their Atlanta invention hunt this September 15th.
They are a very professional group and easy to deal with . I have entered a number of their hunts and have been a finalist and semi-finalist. They do what they claim and don't sugar coat things promising you the stars.
One other thing that is great about their hunts, you get immediate feedback on your idea. They do have contacts with major companies. They are running a hunt for the Welch's company that they just finished taking submissions for. I was thinking of going to Big in Atlanta but when I called them they said they really dont manufacture inventions like their website suggest so I would have to give them 1/2 of my royalties instead of getting 5% of the sales price. They also made it sound like they were real busy and really didnt have time for me. One nice thing they did say to me was for me to email my ideas to them so they wouldnt waste my time traveling there - unlike the American Inventor liars. I just think 50% is way too much in my eyes for just making a phone call to a company. I will try to use them later if im unable to license my inventions myself.

Let's see, now I'm making $0 from my invention. So if BIG wants
50% of 0, then I'm ok with that. If thru their efforts I make more than
0, then I'm ok with giving them half of that too. The way I see it, this is my first invention. Hugh learning curve, with alot to learn. I'm very excited for just the opportunity to pitch my product, and am looking forward to the feedback. It's just one more step in the process. No expectations, just trying to enjoy the whole process and see where it takes me.
So is only Roger going to the Roadshow, no one else? Thanks for the advice Roger- have fun yourself!
