Roger Brown wrote an article for us "Get Your Idea to Market WITHOUT an Invention Submission Firm" which offers some helpful advice.

http://inventorspot.com/without_an_invention_submission_firm

In it, he suggests we get together a list of the companies that are inventor friendly that an inventor can contact directly.

So this is the place where we can all do that. If you come across a company that is open to hearing of new invention ideas and is a good potential partner, please share your find here.

Thanks :)

How do I submit a new idea to Baldwin?
Baldwin welcomes your interest in our company and your new product ideas and inventions. We can only consider your ideas and inventions if you accept and return a signed copy of our "Policy and Conditions for Submitted Ideas" contract. You can obtain this contract by writing Barbara Davis at the address below, or by downloading it here:

• Adobe Acrobat Format (.PDF)

There are two ways you may submit your ideas and inventions. Either write or fax:

Barbara Davis
Inventions Coordinator
Black & Decker
701 E. Joppa Road, MS TW075
Baltimore, MD 21286
410-716-2788 (FAX)

Your submission should include a signed and unmodified "Policy and Conditions for Submitted Ideas" contract with your enclosed documents (written description, drawings, video tapes or prototypes). Our approximate evaluation time for your idea is 4 - 8 weeks.

Receipt of all submitted ideas and inventions will be confirmed to you. All submitted ideas and inventions which do not include a signed Policy and Conditions Contract will be returned to you without being evaluated.

I'm not a big fan of blind idea submissions to companies, but if you DO submit your idea, make sure you follow these steps first:
